The Cross RIver Overlook

over the river and through the woods…

You cannot get to the artist cabin without seeing this beautiful river in all it’s glory! It was a beautiful day when I set out to paint this lovely scene. Rippling water over rocks, a changing autumnal community of trees. Stately white pines towering above! I parked just off the road and brought my easel and paints right down the ravine slightly next to some pines. Thankfully, some broad rocks helped with my footing as this particular setup was a bit challenging! I stayed warm in the sun while playing with the coolness of the water in and the shades.
